Smooth 7.1HR Pro Treadmill Review

In the world of treadmills, money does not always guarantee the quality of a product. Treadmills, whether good or bad, should never be judged by their price tag.

The Smooth 7.1HR PRO provides many surprising features and an overall sense of quality which proves this to be true. It offers improvements over its predecessors and an impressive array of features sure to please any fitness enthusiast.

I know most of you are interested in the full facts and figures more than anything else, so here are the specifications and features in a nutshell.

I will start with the best of this machine, the things which make it a stand out in the field of home fitness machines. My favorite feature, unique to Smooth, is the power folding feature which allows anyone to quickly fold this 280 pound machine for easy storage with no effort.

Along with this great feature the 7.1HR PRO includes a powerful 2.75 horsepower motor delivers strong and durable performance from .5 to 10 mph at an incline of up to 15%.

I am not heavy, but if I were, this machine would not mind and would still have the power necessary.

The Smooth 7.1HR PRO will handle up to 350 pounds of weight and continue to perform well and remain stable and smooth thanks in part to its solid frame which compares well to commercial grade machines that can be found in your local gym and cost several times more than this machine.

Along with its great features there come a few things which have caused some common complaints. Though the 20” by 54” inch sizable belt is well within the average, for taller individuals, and those with longer than average strides, the belt can seem slightly short when using the machine at its upper limits.

In addition, a few people, including myself, have notices that the machine lacks quick buttons which I like to use when I only have a few minutes to squeeze in a workout. More commonly, however, the complaints are about shipping.

Because Smooth’s machines are often purchased factory direct, you may have to wait for factory shipping, which can take a few weeks to get to you. This is a pain when you want to start a new training regimen now, but how upset can you be when the shipping cost is included in the price?

Smooth 7.1HR Treadmill Ratings

Smooth is a quality manufacturer of treadmills and offers many features which are seen commonly on only the most expensive machines if at all. With a retail price of around $2,500, the Smooth 7.1HR PRO is a machine with many features and a price tag which is indicative of that fact.

Despite the fact that the machine is often available factory direct for several hundreds of dollars off its retail price, its cost is above what many casual tread mill users are willing to pay. It is however, a great machine for fitness enthusiasts looking for multiple programs, durability, warranty, and the ability to effectively share the machine between many users.

I rate the Smooth 7.1HR PRO 4 ½ stars out of 5 stars and recommend it all fitness enthusiasts with moderate to heavy use of a treadmill.
