Image 17.5 S Treadmill Review

The Image 17.5 S treadmill is a budget treadmill, meaning that you make a small initial investment and later you will find yourself spending more on repairs. Another thing is that this treadmill isn’t intended to support a daily intensive workout, it is most appropriate for walking then for running, and if you are above near 250 pounds you can expect it to be ready for repairs in no time.

Even so, this treadmill has a package of features and design that makes it a good choice for anyone looking for a treadmill that will go easy on their budgets and still have a good performance, even if it means that you will have to go easy on it.

Budget friendly average treadmill

Let us start with the good points of the Image 17.5 S treadmill. The 52’’ by 18’’ belt is good and provides a wide enough space to walk comfortably; other treadmills have a narrower space. The 2.75 HP motor is decent and even better that others within the same price range. Both belt and motor are the highlights of this budget treadmill.

Other features include: MyTracks Step Counter to count the number of steps you take, two distance programs for 5 and 10 kilometers, a blue tinted LCD display that shows speed, time, distance, calories burned, pulse, heart rate, incline and pace, and a quarter mile oval track graphic.

But the Image 17.5 S does have areas for improvement, even if you can’t complain since if you buy one of these treadmills you are choosing a budget treadmill. The components do not have the best quality and do break often after some extended use.

The warranty is weak enough to make you raise some red flags, 90 days on parts and labor isn’t good enough, and you know you will need more time than 90 days before the parts start to give. The 5 years warranty on the motor is good, but not as good as from other brands and models.

All of this will leave you a doubt in the back of your mind about the reliability of the Image 17.5 S, once you buy it you already know some day it will break and need repairs. But if you are short on money and you want to buy a treadmill that is good enough for walking and not daily intensive workouts, then this may be a good choice for you.
