As a rule, a machine that starts out with a 1.75 CHP motor does not have much chance of being a serious treadmill, but since a larger percentage of treadmill users do nothing but walk on there treadmill that may not be a huge disadvantage for the Healthrider Pro H500i treadmill.

The inclusion of cross training on a treadmill is a cute idea, but when the programs build to support the addition of hand weights are decent the machine actually has a chance of meeting its goal of serving as more than a treadmill. The H500i is easy to use and accessible to users and includes handweights that help to help create a cross training experience all while using the interactive inbuild programs.

Engaging Cross-Trainer, Depressing As A True Treadmill

healthrider-pro-h500i-treadmillI always say it, but I will say it again, if I can not run on a treadmill I will most likely not like it at all. With a 50″ long belt and a skimpy 1.75 CHP motor it is very unlikely that you will see any 6 foot tall man running on this machine. Designed to provide a cross training workout from your treadwill, the goal of this machine is not to be a preparation tool for marathon runners, so it whould not be overly beaten up about not allowing for running.

What the machine does well is taking users from simply casually walking on a treadmill to doing cross training routines, which are both cardiovascular and toning based, in no time at all. Adding a level of added fitness improvement should never be faulted, and this machine does offer casual walkers and joggers a machine which can help them get a workout they could not get on a standard jogging treadmill.

healthrider-pro-h500i-conThe console on the machine is quite straight forward and the H500i is responsive to its controls. This allows users to take control of their workouts, and if they need to find the work out that works best for them, continually improving themselves to the extent of the machine. Let it be noted that this machine has limitations, it gets loud at higher speeds even though it is quite stable and will truly handle heavier users unlike some other cheaper machines that are rated for high capacities.

Cheap Price, Cheap Product

Construction and material concerns are often the case when it comes to treadmills which are priced under $1000, the Healthrider H500i treadmill is not an exception. Quality is lacking despite the fact this it is a fun tradmill and a solid walker.

The motor is a limiting factor with make this machine only and adequite jogger and a very poor running treadmill. May be a great machine for the casual user, unlikely to suit anyone serious about a quality workout. Expect to pay around $700 for a machine which is very similar to machines which cost hundreds less.
