Budget but a Quality Treadmill
Much of a basic machine that it is-Merit Fitness is a great starter. Especially with this price, a 2.75 THP motor is a good offer, best when it comes with a lifetime warranty. 
This allows the user to use it even for jogging, though not for running. For running you should rather look for a 3.0HP motor. The treadmill is capable of providing steady power by easily adjusting the speed from 0.5 to 10mph. And, yes without straining your joints or muscles.
Though the weight limit is constrained to a mere 152 pounds and running area too being just about average, 735T does offer some really interesting program choices that range from manual to endurance testing programs. Hand grips are fitted with a Pulse monitor that allows you to check your heart rate easily. Easy and immediate incline change is possible by using the Quick Speed/Incline Keys and four LED windows display your workout data.
The stainless steel treadmill frame is extra durable, and comes with a lifetime warranty. Much expected from any Johnson Health Tech machine. This is a great treadmill. The price is affordable, and it has everything I need. The pre-programmed workouts are great. It was easy to assemble and is still working great after a couple months of solid use by me and my husband. Excellent product.
