Nordictrack Treadmill Reviews

Fitness giant Icon Health and Fitness is the company behind the Nordic Track treadmills. Nordic Track has evolved through the years, starting with a variety of exercise equipment then found fame with the Nordic Track Skiers. The company also manufactured treadmills, ellipticals, bikes and steppers. The other well-known subsidiaries of Icon are ProForm, Reebok, Weslo, Healthrider, among others.

Nordic Track treadmills have continued to thrive in this very competitive industry. It is well known to offer a variety of features in their lowest priced treadmills that has attracted much attention: CardioGrip heart monitor, 1-Step Pulse Monitor, Carb Counter and DuraSoft V impact cushioning to name just a few.

The Reflex Deck technology is a well-known innovation that has come exclusive to the Nordic Track treadmill. This permits the deck to flatten as you step on it, then it immediately springs back to its original shape. This allows greater absorption thus keeping the impact to your knees and joints to a minimum.

Nordic Track TreadmillThe iFit Technology is available on most models. It allows users to secure more workout programs through the internet for a minimal fee.

The CardioGrip heart monitor is activated by gripping the pulse sensors built into the hand rails. Pulse-driven programs are also available to monitor your heart rate and helps keep you within your work out level.

The Nordic Track line is a compact and durable machine. Their tie up with Icon Fitness made it possible to improve the machine's construction. Icon was able to source components abroad and reinvested the money by providing it with better motors and features that proved high value for this mid-range brand.

The electronic console found in Nordic Track are common to those found in commercial models in health gyms. There are numerous sensors, readouts for a more detailed information on your performance.

Nordic Track treadmills have gotten rave reviews from Runner's World, consumers at Epinions.com and Treadmill Doctors. Experts highlighted its excellent features but noted that it's light on build and construction.

In general, Nordic Track have gotten mixed reviews. Some models have good value but others don't seem quite up to the standard. Indeed it improved with the more powerful motor, excellent cushioning and feature upgrades that is sure to attract users. With this in mind, we feel that it lagged behind the competition in its build quality. It is evidenced by the warranty on offer compared to the product's price.

The 3-2-1 (motor, frame and parts and labor) years warranty known to most Icon products is still on offer. Many Nordic Track treadmills are offered with a lifetime warranty on the motor but just a year on frame and parts and a further year on labor.

This might be not enough because of the quite a number of features this machine has, it looks too delicate for the warranty on offer. It's good to know that as a further option, you will be able to cover your treadmill with extended warranties for a further one to three years.
