Healthrider Treadmill Reviews
Fitness giant, Icon is behind the Healthrider treadmills. Other brands retailed by Icon are Image, Weslo, Reebok, ProForm, among others. Healthrider treadmills are packed with excellent features but we are surprised that with Icon's strong R&D, they failed to back it with a more dependable warranty.
Healthrider's strong point is that it has some of the best innovations for treadmills. Healthrider treadmills are a product of Icon Fitness' continued efforts in R&D and to provide the best products in an otherwise packed market. Among the best innovative features found in these machines are iFit workouts designed by a Certified Personal Trainer, the Soft Track tread belt supported by the BioFlex cushioning system and the 7x10 Matrix Display.
All Healthrider have the best sized tread belts at 20"x60". We are impressed with the deck size and cushioning that it took workout comfort to another level. Take note that these sizes are becoming rarer in the market these days. The BioFlex system will cushion those sensitive knees and joints from injury.
Types of Healthrider treadmills:
- Healthrider T650i
- Healthrider T850i
- Healthrider R60
- Healthrider R65
Healthrider treadmills models
run from $800 to $1600.
We have pinpointed the warranty features as a downside to this otherwise fantastic product. Like most of their other brands, Icon only provides a 90-day warranty. Though they are affordable, buyers can purchase warranty upgrades of $89 for one year; $119 for two years and $149 for three years. These are good options for those who like to own a Healthrider, but a risk that they should be ready to face if these features won't last. Users will take note that other brands offer better warranty and overall value for the same price range.
With all Healthrider treadmills running at 2.0 to 2.5HP, we feel that these machines are underpowered if your consider that they are equipped with thickly padded belts. The motors will face the risk of a burnout too quickly.
Overall, we noticed that Healthrider treadmills are not of the best quality. Icon has put features over quality and durability. The construction is not solid mainly because of many plastic parts. Moreover, their poor warranty is a reflection of its durability.
Other than this area, Healthrider is still a good machine. Users will just be ready to invest in maintenance costs soon. We recommend that the Healthrider treadmills are only good for walking and light jogging. Serious runners should look to other brands for more extensive workouts.
