The Bowflex TreadClimber TC5000 combines three machines in one: it is a treadmill, an elliptical trainer and a stair climber. It is a great cardio equipment and it has been marketed all over the place lately. And the price shows just that, you will end up paying more because of the marketing campaign.

But , is it worth the price tag above $2000? Yes it is, if it works properly. Treadclimbers, and the Bowflex TC5000 isn’t the exception, have many moving parts and complicated mechanics, which means that they are prone to be broken due to stress and your weight on exercises.

Is this a 3 in 1 bargain?

The Bowflex TreadClimber TC5000 can meet anybody’s needs of exercise, from a beginner to a fitness enthusiast; it is packed with electronic features that will help you get in shape. It is just like a treadmill, but providing a low impact exercise that goes easy on your joints.

It was designed with dual treadles that rise up to meet your steps, they work like two platforms of a stair climber that move up and down, while working like two little treadmills. It has 12 levels of intensity and six electronic functions that allow you to follow your speed, time, distance, calories burned, calories per minute and total steps, all in 5 easy to read LCD displays.

It has large footboards on the side of the treadles to make it easier and safer to start and stop your workout session. The Bowflex TC5000 speed can go up to 4.0 MPH, you can just walk or go for power walking, as it best fits your daily needs for exercise. And it includes a wireless chest strap to follow your heart rate.

All of this doesn’t come cheap and the Bowflex TreadClimber TC5000 is very expensive. And even so it has a major flaw, to change the resistance you have to stop and restart your exercise. The speed isn’t fast enough to jog or run, but the fact that it inclines gives you an excellent workout and burns calories like no other machine.

Bowflex TC5000 at a Glance…

Pros:

  1. Effective low-impact workouts
  2. Better than the Bowflex TC3000

Cons:

  1. Expensive
  2. Prone to mechanical problems
  3. To change the resistance you have to stop and restart your exercise

The Bowflex TreadClimber TC5000 is expensive and may not be worth the damage to your wallet. It is a great and innovative idea for workout sessions, and greatly effective. But, iy still needs some improvement when it comes to the mechanics behind it and to lower a bit the price when all the marketing hype passes by.
