BodyCraft has been offering strength equipment to the market for so long that it’s not a surprise that the company has decided to come up with a treadmill line. The product that I’ll be reviewing today is the BodyCraft 1140 Folding Treadmill.

BodyCraft 1140 Folding Treadmill: Basic Features

Looking at the specifications of the BodyCraft 1140 Folding Treadmill, I would say this very much looks like the entry level type of treadmill. That would be a logic decision if a company like Body Craft has never ventured into the treadmill market before.

The 2.25 hp motor is powerful enough for a beginner who will need the basic features of a treadmill to get started on that healthier fitness regimen. The quick keys for speed and incline would prove to be a challenge to an intermediate runner as well. It helps that there are 8 kinetic energy dampers to help make sure no new or additional injury occurs during a session.

BodyCraft 1140 Folding Treadmill: Extra Features

Although the features included on the BodyCraft 1140 Folding Treadmill have been integrated into most treadmill equipments out there, it would be good to mention for beginners that the BodyCraft 1140 Folding Treadmill measures the heart rate via a pulse grip or optional polar chest strap. This feature will be a great help if you want to base your training sessions on heart rate measurement.

You also have the option to listen to your favorite workout tunes with the included speakers on the treadmill for your MP3 player or iPod.

BodyCraft 1140 Folding Treadmill: Verdict

Like I have reiterated several times during this review, the BodyCraft 1140 Folding Treadmill is something I would recommend for beginners. Feature-wise, there are treadmills out there which can offer the same, if not better, things as compared to this equipment.

In line with this verdict, please make sure that price does not stand in the way. I have looked at the price range of this product on the market at this time and I see that there are other treadmills out there in the same price range which are better. If the price goes down to that of an entry level equipment, this becomes a must have.

I have the 1140 at home and i use it about 3 times a week for about 30 minutes each. I am pretty happy with the machine. I had to replace the control board after about a month but since then it’s been great and i’ve had it for about 1 1/2 years now.
